Yes, it is free for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to use to manage conventions and events of all kinds. If you are a member of another church and you don't mind your URL containing "LDSConventions", drop me a line and we'll chat.
While I don't mind donating my time for a good cause, web hosting companies are not that generous. If you would like to make a donation of any size to keep this site going, please Donate.

The Church in Australia has a Credit Card Payment Gateway that has been used for a number of YSA conventions and SMYC events. If you wish to use it, you MUST first contact the Church Area Offices to ask them if you are allowed to use it. If you use this method, the money goes into a church bank account and you need to correspond with the staff at the Area Office to get the money transferred to your stake.
The site is set up to allow you to process payments automatically using Paypal.
You are most welcome to use this system. You will not be able to use the Church Payment Gateway, so you will need to manage your payments offline or use Paypal. If the Church in your local area has a bank payment gateway that you are allowed to use I would be happy to look at it. We have loaded all stakes, districts, wards and branches for the whole world, so you should be able to see the list of Stakes and Wards for your country once you create your convention. We might also need to talk about time zones for the "Deadline" and "Registrations Open" options.
I am a developer based in Brisbane and I have now managed the website for two EFY (SMYC/FSY) events and a number of YSA conventions. I get asked regularly to do new sites but don't have the time, so I have built this to allow you to do it yourself. I am a mum, a wife, a Stake Relief Society Counsellor and I have a full time job. Constructive suggestions and wishlist additions are welcome and I will get to them when I can but I do need to sleep sometimes.
They are building one. My understanding is that FSY will be the main use for it at first. I don't mind whether you use my system or the church one, as long as it saves you time and pain.
I say this in the nicest possible way, but no.
Yes, there is a Unit Login area where a Stake or Ward may log in and see any registrations that require approval, download permission forms, and print check-in forms.
To reduce the potential amount of data that could be exposed in a breach, registration data will be kept at most for 2 years after your convention start date.
